Ok now i have put my phone on the charger and at first i saw 36% and about an hour later it was down to 24% then next thing i know its completely dead and i try to turn it back on and for me the only way that can happen is if my put my phone back on the charger for it to cut on

What model is your phone?

How old is the battery? Is it older than 12 months?

Try taking the phone back to your local carrier's store and see if they will let you put a new battery in it. If the phone powers back up without a problem, I would suggest purchasing the new battery and discarding the old one.

If it is brand new and this is the first time you're charging it, take it back to the store and have the store rep verify that the phone, the battery, and the charger are all in good working condition. If not, ask them to replace whatever components are not working.
