Since there are no lights on the NOTE 10.1 2014.... if it is off how do I know when it is charged??

Why do you need to know?
It will stop charging when it is charge to 100%. These batteries have circuitry built-in that cut off the charger when battery is full so waiting till the morning will not hurt it. If you have sound on it should make a sound when battery is full.
P.S. You should find the manual and have a good read as a lot of information can be found in it.
