Cheap Extended Batteries?

I've been finding a lot of sub-$20 3500/4000 MaH batteries lately and I was wondering: What's the catch?

A brand name 4000 maH battery will cost you $80. So are these cheaper batteries any good?

I have no personal experience, but from what I have read in the forums, cheap USB cables, 110v chargers and batteries have issues working properly.

I think the old saying "you get what you pay for" should be considered here.

I think the biggest problem with the batteries is that they caim to be high MaH, but when tested, prove to be well less than half of their claim.

these chinese cells are nearly the same as htc and others. "you get what you pay for" does not apply here.

so if these chinese batteries cost you 75 dollars would you feel more inclined to purchase them?

what if HTC started selling their batteries for 19 dollars..would you STOP purchasing them because the cost is cheap?

dont get caught up on brand name when it comes to batteries. these cells have to have strict safety precautions in place.

i have 4 chinese htc batteries and have been using these since launch of the evo 3D. i also used these same type of generic cells on the 4G and never had any issues.

my real world experience has proven to me these cells are indeed satisfactory.

I found a 4000 maH for $14.99 with a back-plate cover. I mean, that just seems too good to be true. I'm so temped to just buy one because even if it's no good it was only $15 lol...

Keep in mind there are a few threads here and over at XDA, that have purchased batteries from eBay, Amazon etc... at cheap rates and when they received it and took the label off to find out they are not the Mah as described, so simply beware from where and who you are buying them from, look for feedbacks and reviews from seller, at that price you cannot get hurt too much, so i would not be worried that much.

all i know is, if you are a heavy user, or can't be by a charger all that often.. an extended battery is an essential.
