Help check gmail - intervals

I'm SURE that I'm just missing something here (I just got my Droid 3 hours ago And, yes, I tried a search for this), but where in the gmail app can I change the frequency that it checks my gmail account?

I dont' think there is one. Often my phone gets the email before my computer does

It is a push method of email retrieval. As soon as the gmail servers gets the email, it will push it to your phone.

You guys are right. Sorry. Earlier this afternoon I sent one to my gmail as a test and waited for almost an hour and didn't get a notification on the phone so I had the phone check manually and it grabbed the email. But I just tried again and my phone buzzed about 30 seconds later.
