Check mail in screen lock?

Hi - is it possible to set up the HTC One X, so that when it is in "screen lock" mode, it still checks my email accounts, and gives a buzz every time a mail is received?

Yep, it should do that anyway? Do you have it set so that WiFi switches off when the screen is off?

What mail app are you using? Gmail or HTC Mail?

Thanks for your response. I am using the mail client(s) which came with the phone - I have mail accounts with hotmail, one on my ISP (some sort of IMAP), and a work (exchange) account. Where is the setting for "wifi off" when screen off?

Settings -> WiFi - Menu Button -> Advanced -> WiFi Sleep Policy. What is that set too?

Also, if you open the mail app and go to sync settings, is smart sync enabled and what are your peak times set too?

Thanks - great info. Turns out I had "auto sync" set to off (under settings -> accounts & sync). Working now!
