Help Check notifications during a call

I'm not able to check my notifications while in a call it will show I have them but won't let me pull down the task bar HELP!!! It's super annoying
 
What version of Android are you running? You can do it in Ice Cream Sandwich (works for me anyway).
 
Try pressing the home button and once on the home screen try to check the notification.
But as kie said, it still works for us.
