Help Chevy wireless charging

I have a 2017 Chevy Silverado. It has wireless charging built into the console. Is there a setting in my Note 8 that needs to be on to charge my phone?

are you having issues with the car charging the phone?? did you place the phone on the charging mat to see if it works?

are you using a case?

there is no setting to toggle on the phone. there MAY be a setting in your car.
have you had other wireless charging devices that took advantage of the charger or is this the first device ?

There is a setting under Battery, Menu (upper right corner), Advanced settings for toggling Fast Wireless Charging on or off. Check that out. Hope that helps,

That's for "fast" charging. The phone will wireless charge regards of this setting. Its automatic.

Would be surprised if the in car charging pad provides fast charging, but even if it did or did not , the phone should just work on the mat.

Stil need more intel from OP though.. :D

Oh, okay, I didn't realize regular wireless charging worked even if that setting is off. Good to know.

Yes sir fast charging uses more current and therefore more heat generated. There could be times where the phone may be in harsher environments that may not be suited fro wireless charging, or any number of reasons to why one doesn't want to use fast charging.

I've got a 2016 Suburban with the console wireless charger. I can't get my note 8 to charge with it. Has anyone been able to get it to work?

See excerpt below from "GM Wireless Charging Compatible Devices"

Incompatible Phones Due to Physical Size: 1) Apple iPhone 6 Plus, 7 Plus 2) Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus 3) Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge 4) Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus 5) Samsung Note 5, Note 7

Since the Note 7 is incompatible due to physical size, I'm guessing the note 8 falls into that category too.

you have 2 distinct problems with wireless charging in GM vehicles.
#1 the GM pad is almost 2mm thick, this makes wireless charging difficult and less effective.
I replace the rubber pad with a leather like material, minimize this thickness.
I use S8 plus, once you remove the thick pad you have room for larger phones.

#2 the charger is installed to far forward for larger, phones to charge.
If you remove the outer bezel you can see how to remove and modify the charger Pad to accept larger phones, maximize phone width 3.1 inches. by moving the charger positon all the way to the back of the Bezel.
