Child friendly OS?

I've just purchased a new tablet for my son, CloudNine Neuropad Infinity 7"

I've been playing with for a couple of days and it seems to be ideal. The proble is I want to make it more child safe.

I have downloaded a couple of the CHild safe apps which will load when you start. The two I have tried seem to be what I am after but for some reason when the tablet loads the app didn't load up.
Next I installed an Autorun app which again works but it has about a 30-60 second delay when load after you have unlocked it.

this is no good as he can unlock the tablet and access the ICS OS before the app starts.

Does anyone know of a FREE OS designed for kids I could load or a fix to load the apps ASAP.

He likes to take pictures, view them and play games. thats all I really want him to be able to do. The problem I have found with the apps I have tried so far is the delay you have before the app starts. during that time you have access to the desktop and full controls.

Hey i just looked into this article and it seems there are a couple Tablets that have built in parental controls that you might want to look into...

Does Android Provide Better Parental Controls Than iOS?
