Chinese Android Tablet Wifi reach?

Hi

I had a question on my Chinese Tablet Lens (best-chinese-tablets) on my blog about the following that I want to answer, but I am unsure if I have got my facts correct.

The question relates to why some Chinese Android tablets have got suspect\bad WIFI reach. The person is asking if the reason is because a lot of them have got metal back casings.
I am however not sure if that can be the reason as I've seen many tablets with casings that looks like metal with a good WIFI reach.
I am suspecting that the reason relates more to cheap components used in the cheaper tablets.

Can somebody also explain what does the b/g/n mean that is usually quoted as part of the WIFI specifications?

I hope you can help.

Thx

I can't comment on the bad wifi question, but "b/g/n" means that the device supports 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n connectivity.

FWIW, the cheap Chinese tablet I have (A "Wonderpad") has a plastic backing and excellent wifi...

Thanks Mayhem.

Awaiting further answers from the rest of the guys. I am sure that it is probably related to components and has nothing to do with metal casings etc.
