Help Chinese tablet, apps keep installing by themselves

Hello, I bought my first android device some months ago, it is one of those cheap chinese tablets, and I don't know anything about it.

First of all, I don't know how to get more info about the device, so all I know is this:
-Model number: Q8H_HD
-Processor: Quadcore-A33
-Android version: 4.4.2
-Firmware version: v2.0

I only bought it to read manga, so I don't need any powerful device, all I need is a decent screen, and I thought this one could satisfy my little needs.
But there is a problem, everytime I turn on the wifi connection, a new app gets installed silently, and I've read somewhere (yes, I did a little research) that the ROM could have been set to do that. I think you can change the rom but the device has to be rooted or something, and without knowing the brand/model I think I can't root it, so I need help, please.

Thanks in advance.

Ps. If you need more info, please ask for it

Try to make a factory reset, if after the factory reset the problem persists you will have to root it because it's in the ROM itself.

Thanks, I already factory reseted it, and the problem persists, so yes, I have to root it. How can I do it without knowing the brand or the model?

Btw, by factory reset you mean the button combination thing, right? When you press vol+ block, or something like that at the start, and you get a black screen with reset stuff, cache stuff... That's what I did.

Yes just look for something that says system reset.

This might be some useful info: This is my second android device, the first one was an HTC wildfire, I think it had android 2.x, and I vaguely recall that I rooted it with some sort of generic process that could root most of the devices. Am I right? If so, do you know if is there something like that, that could root my device without knowing its model? Thanks.

Run malwarebytes on it and see what it says. If it spots something it can't delete it's most likely installed to the system partion and can't be removed without root.

Being what it is, unknown cheapo Chinese tablet, there's no documented proven rooting methods. Could try Kingroot if you got nothing to lose, it may work, it may do nothing, or it may brick completely and you'll be buying a new tablet.

Thanks, I'll do that, but I have never installed anything, I only use it for reading manga, I only store .jpgs in it, I don't even have a google account (needed to use the play store) so I doubt malwarebytes is going to do anything.

Hmm... I'll wait some more, maybe someone falls here with some magic and roots my device through some sort of spell... If nobody does that, I'll do that tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

Edit: I have something to lose, my precious precious 20 bucks, I need em!! To eat more delicious delicious pizza!!

Most of unknown Chinese tablets are made by a handful of manufacturers using similar hardware specs, it usually means that rooting is totally possible.

A lot of these cheapo, Chinese devices are infected out of the box so it may be there's nothing you can do unfortunately.

Towelroot is more reliable than Kingroot so that might be something you want to have a look at first.

I installed it and says that my device isn't currently supported :(

That's plausible, especially if it's got an older Android version like 4.4.2 Kitkat. I guess this is an Allwinner something based device.

EDIT

Searching "Q8H_HD" seems to confirm it's an Allwinner based tablet.

Ok, so I did the kingroot thing, and I don't know if it's actually rooted, but at least, the app comes with a "silent install block", I hope this works.

It might sound weird but they make the phones highly root capable on purpose because they want to include some advanced adware that work best on rooted phones. I even bought two devices that have been pre-rooted from factory.

Yeah, it's an allwinner tablet, I don't know what allwinner is but all apps I unninstalled seemed to come from something called allwinner.

I have been using the tablet for 2 days with kingroot opened and it works, I haven't seen any of those chinese apps anymore, and surprisingly, the fact that no apps are installing/downloading silently, appears to be lowering the battery consumption, now I can left it turned on for a day or almost two.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm not really interested in android so I think I'll leave for now, but if I can help in some way, let me know. Of course, I will fully recommend this forum. Thanks again, you were so helpful :)

Hello again. After all this time, another application installed by itself, and the battery comsumption raised again, so maybe the chinese shit that's deeply installed on the system has found a way to kill all my new stuff or something...

At least, I think I have found a solution, and a more accurate name of the device with it. If everything goes right, I may make a tutorial here as a payback. Also, the name of the device is Allwinner A13 Q88+ and it seems like there are so many people with this model, (because it is the cheapest one on aliexpress since maybe 2013) so if I make an easy tutorial with working links (there are tutorials out there, but some of their links are dead, or they didn't explain nothing at all) it could be useful for some people here.

Whaddaya think?
And where should I post the tutorial?
