Chinese tablet

I bought a new tablet from a Chinese site and it won't connect to the app store. Can I format the drive empty and load a fresh version of Android?

What tablet is it? This is the problem when you get a cheap tablet, especially a Chinese tablet.

What you are asking is how to root your tablet. Rooting is kind of like hacking where rooting will give you access to the system os and grant you permission to alter it.

The problem is an exploit needs to be found in order root it. Exploits can be device specific and you will need some developers to find it, and make it accessible to the public.

Now as far as Google's Play Store. What happens on your device? Why can't you access it?

Also it would help to know what device you have as well? And what version of android it is running?

Each time I try to update the play store I enter my email and password, it then tells me that it can't reach the play store at this time.
If I could update this all would be well.
As for the info on the tablet

It says

Model number. 6797

Android version. 8.1

Baseband version. MOLY. WR8W1315. MD. V34, 2018/01/02 14:24

Kernel version. 3.4.67 buildserver@buildserver6#1
Mon Jan 14 09:59:33 CST 2019

Build number 6797_vEN00SA_20190114

Custom build version vEN00SA

Serial number 0123456789ABCDEF

As I said if I could get the store to work properly I could get chrome and other apps to work and all would be well. I don't need the data component of the tablet all I really want is a good sized e reader with a large ssd. (247GB)

Thank-you for your time

Cheers

Miles

Check the tablet's date and time are correct. Because if wrong, that will stop anything Google working.

It's not one of those tablets that has Chinese govt censoring built-in is it, where basically the hosts file has been nobbled? I've seen reports of some Onda tablets like that.
