Hello

I'm using chompsms and like it a lot so far, however one feature is missing. It doesn't auto delete text messages like stock, my stock messanger can delete messages once it reaches a certain point.. I can't see an option like that for chompsms. Am I missing it or does chompsms not support it? Being able to delete text messages is kind of annoying manually.

P.S. Can I entirely disable my sock messaging app and use chompsms?

You can disable notifications from the stock app then forget it exists.

Re auto-delete, some 3rd party apps let you limit the number of messages retained in a conversation, deleting oldest after that. Go does this, Pansi does not, can't remember whether Handcent does.
 
Aside from disabling notifications and forgetting the stock app. If you are on ICS or higher, you can go to Settings>Apps>All and find the stock app and actually disable it so that it doesn't show up or use any resources. If you have accepted any updates for the stock app, you will have to uninstall the updates first.

Man I don't know what to use as my default sms/mms app. Stock is decent but lacks customization, and the slideshows for pictures are really annoying. Chompsms is my favorite, however it crashes when I try to send mms picture messages. Go sms is nice but I just don't like go products, that and their emojis are lacking. Handcent just never grew on me. Lags a lot.

There needs to be more 3rd party sms/mms apps out. Or least the stock one has to get some updates.

/rant.

EDIT: Just found an app called "Pansi SMS" . Looks nice, has emoji support - maybe not all but enough for me. I just don't see a text message limiter, oh well I might suck it up and use it.
