Choosing between a One S or a One X

Hi guys, hope this is the right place to ask about this. :)

My contract's coming up on my old HTC Desire (it served me well!), and now I'm looking to get a new HTC phone as a replacement. I've really been impressed by the One S, but I also have the option of getting a One X (for a higher price, obviously).

My gut instinct is to go with the One S, as I think it has everything I need... but I was wondering if anyone here has noticed any drawbacks with the One S, which would make it worth paying a bit more for the One X?

I had a same trouble choosing which one, S or X and to be honest I haven't made any mistake choosing One S over X as I don't see much difference.

Ok, ok I know, lot of people would say:
One X got 4.7" Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen but
One S
only Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
One X comes with 32 GB (26 GB user-available) storage, 1 GB RAM
One S
16 GB (9,9 GB user-available) 1 GB RAM
and to top it up
One X
is with Quad-core 1.5 GHz
One S is Dual-core 1.5 Ghz Krait only.

I had a chance to try both phones in the shop and for my liking One S has won this time, so it's totaly up to you what do you need from a phone.
Good luck and enjoy your new One X or S....

When I looked at changing my phone I was originally going to get the One X, never even considered the One S. I also came from the Desire which was the best in its day, so I wanted the One X.

I did some research and noticed reports of poor battery life (less than a day) with the One X, whereas the One S was lasting more than a day. I can actually get just over two days usage with my One S. I also noticed that speed tests showed little difference between the two phones, even though one was quad and the other dual. I am sure that there are other tests available now that you can search for, the ones I used were some of the earlier ones and so the results may be different now.

When I went into the shop and handled the One X and One S together, it had to be the One S. The One X was too big to use with just one hand, whereas I can use the One S (just) with one hand. I didn't notice anything special with the speed between them and together with the reports I had read about the battery and speed, made it the One S for me.

Believe me, coming from the Desire, both screens will look large and the additional storage after being conditioned by the Desire to save space will be adequate.

It might also be an idea to check out the One X forum to see what people are complaining about there with the One X and compare it to the complaints on this forum. [Edit] Just had a look at the One X forum and by reading some of the threads, it looks like there is still a battery issue, but make your own mind up about that.

I have had no trouble with the One S and never once regretted not getting the One X

Similar choice here, between One S and One X. I moved from an iPhone, and am very happy with the One S, it is a really nice phone. Got a good deal on the Full Monty tariff too,

Have you found the limited storage on the One S a problem so far?

Also, considering the One S but I'm not completely sold by it

you may have already upgraded but i went from Desire to One S and am very happy with decision. one thing i will say is that i tried the One X, it was rubbish on battery and as they have moved the power switch from where it was on the desire it was impossible as a right handed person to switch the phone off single handed on the One X. just generally too massive to be useful to me and as my phones normally live in a front jeans pocket i much preferred the one S.
