Help Choppy video playback

Has anyone noticed that some videos seem choppy while playing on the phone? Not ones recorded on the phone, ones from youtube and other websites. I have noticed this before and thought nothing of it but I tried the same video on my desire and it plays fine.

Yep - I get this a lot.

Very annoying with all that horsepower!

What do you think it is? Codecs? Hopefully it can be fixed in an update somewhere down the line.

Mine play fine, I have alot of converted videoclips and clips I downloaded fron Youtube (.flv) and all play good....

Yes its not every video, just certain ones.

any particular format u've noticed the problem with? i dont usually play much video, but when i do its avi/mp4 movies n ive not noticed it before

Watch with the youtube app on HIGH QUALITY its a bit choppy like its struggling to buffer. You notice it more when you skip through a few mins.

when i click on that, it takes me to a page of a few videos, which one do u mean?

Its just over 16mins long fear 3 interval 2. I had to link the vid with my phone so it was kind of a pain. No youtube access at work

EDIT: Just checked now it links to youtube home doesnt it. Will try again in a sec...

Ok i've changed the link, watch it now on the youtube app and press the high quality button. Like I said you notice more when you skip on a few mins.

yeah same for me. not unwatchable but definitely not as smooth as i'd like..have u noticed it only when streaming videos of this length maybe?

No, I have seen it on shorter videos as well and not even on high quality. This is the only one I can remember because I only watched it the other night. I'll keep my eye out for other videos. As I remember some are worse than others to.

yeah i'll keep my eye out too. sometimes this phone disappoints with all its power.. ive sometimes noticed slightly sluggish homescreen transitions.. and very sluggish homescreen transitions with a particular live wallpaper.

Might be something to do with the video resolution.
240p/360p/480p/720p One or more of these may be itchy on the S2.

Which program does everyone use to backup youtube videos? I have youtube downloader.

I'd test each res of that video myself but I can't afford to waste 500MB, but hopefully someone in Canada or US can since you all have unlimited TB, In my homeland we trade gold bars for gigabytes.
