Help Chrome history keeps coming back

Every time I delete my history in chrome it goes away but then 5 minutes later it reappears. I have turned off sync and it still happens. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I'm trying to duplicate your results. Back in 5 minutes.

I.was finally able to keep my history deleted. I cleared the app data for chrome thinking that would erase everything for good but everything was still there so i turned Google account sync off and then deleted my history.

I got the same results. I don't use Chrome much so I'm not worried about it but if I do start using it a lot I'll try your fix. Thanks for sharing Privyet.
