Chrome - request mobile site?

Hi everyone,

First post - I pretty much registered to ask this question! I've found plenty of sites advising of how to get Chrome for Android to always request the desktop version of a website. This is fine. What I want to do is get it to always request the mobile site on my tablet, the same as it does on my phone.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

Thanks!

In the settings of Chrome browser, if you tick the desktop version it will load the desktop version otherwise it will load the mobile version provided the page is having both versions available. If the page is having only desktop version, it will be loaded as desktop version whether you have ticked the box or not.

I'm not sure if that's correct. On my Android phone if I go to a site I get the mobile version. On my tab I get the desktop version by default, (same websites) but don't have the request desktop version ticked. The tab is a Galaxy tab 2 7.0

That's because, your tablet screen is large and the system knows that even the desktop version is suitable for the screen size. The website will automatically load as desktop version. But mobile screen is small, so by default it will load as mobile version unless you opt for desktop version. Again even if your screen is large enough some websites will load by default as mobile versions because the website knows that you are surfing from Android device.
Some browsers have the choice to present itself as desktop browser to the web page, so it will be loaded as desktop. Like Opera and Dolphin.

Not really, because some sites just don't have a mobile version you can request. Many of the more popular sites have mobile versions though, like AF.

I'm having a problem that the original poster's solution may fix. My problem is that the sites I want DO have a mobile site, but for some reason will not feed that to my Nexus 7. I have tried all the standard fixes, and it didn't work. I did find on one site that the had added the nexus 7 to a "Redirect to Full Site" device listing (per a user's request).

So, even if there isn't a Mobile site, it wouldn't hurt to give users the option to Request First, now would it?
