Am I secure enough to do banking?
I have not advanced to VPN's so will do work at home if necessary.
I was under the impression Chromebooks were secure and especially not using WiFi would be OK?

you should be fine. i have used my pixelbook for banking purposes at the airport with no issues. just do not bank for long periods of time. go in and get out as quick as you can.
