Chromecast using phone's hotspot.

Say, I was wondering if anyone has tried using the phone hotspot to run chromcast.

Example, I am on a road trip, I have a LCD tv with electricity and perfect 4glte with a cell phone that has hotspot. I do not have access to a router or any other stuff. Then use the phone to operate said chromecast.

Assuming that a) you can connect devices to the hotspot and get on the internet and b) Chromecast can connect to a router (I don't have one so I don't know), yes. A hotspot looks to other devices like any other router.

no you cannot do this unless you have a 2nd phone to use as the remote

the phone youre using as the hotspot takes the place of your router

the hotspot phone is not connected to its own hotspot so it is not on the same network as the chromecast
