Chrono Trigger with Snes9x Ex

I'm having real problems catching the rat in the Arris Dome using the touchscreen to the extent where I think I'm going to have to give up on it and wait for the official Android release of the game.

Is there anyway I can bypass this part of the game and just input the correct code into the console or move onto the stage after this?

I've been playing through Chrono Trigger with SNESEmu HD. Catching the rat was definitely the most frustrating part so far, but I was eventually able to do it. The best advice I can give is to go one screen down from the rat, and come back up--you'll be chasing the rat from the bottom up instead of from the top to the bottom. For some reason, the rat seems to get a bit less of a head start when you chase it from the bottom.

Of course, you'll still have to do it over and over again before you get the timing just right. :/ It's doable, though.

That was tough, but I got stuck where you needed to press three buttons at once (I think it was L,R, and A) as my og EVO only supported two touches. I ended up mapping one of the buttons to the volume rocker.
