Cequint is partenered with HTC. Such a company is threatened by a free app. Pathetic they would take this route instead of coming to an agreement or even a warning.
I apparently do not have access to Cequint applications or services at all since any unknown caller who calls me that is not in my contacts on my mobile phone or home phone just appears on my phones as a number only. So, how do I obtain Cequint services?
He WAS going to do a live podcast with us here and on tea time.. scheduled for last night but, all things considered with the 'settlement' 'n all... that got cancelled.
Wow, I'd like to describe what I think of this company and the kind of petty things they are doing, but I'd rather not get a nasty gram. I sure hope they won't send me a CAD for seeing "480" and thinking in my head "eastern maricopa". Its a good thing they are protecting such a startling innovation.
The patent should never have been granted. From what I see it is basically saying a system to pull from a database area codes and exchange codes. So my brain is infringing on their patent when I see a number on my screen, recognize the area code or exchange and say oh that is in X city? I understand the author not being in a place to fight, but yea this is another example of our patent system failing miserably.
