Clean Install ICS?

I'm going to South Korea for a few months, and my iPhone is locked to AT&T. I was looking to get the Galaxy S III when it comes out.

This will be my first Android device, but I have a moderate amount of experience with them.

I was wondering if I could clean install ICS and get rid of all the Samsung UI and preloaded software. Thanks!

you have two options:
1) wait for a dev to release a debloated, deodexed rom that you can flash
2) root it and debloat it yourself.

How would I go about rooting this device? Is it dependent on the device software or hardware, as it is in iOS jailbreaking? Thanks.

device dependant. There's rooting information if you go to your device's section on this forum (or on XDA)
