I find it funny that most people that know anything on this forum know that clean master is not an app that you want on your phone /mobile device. Yet, when I am the phandroid news app, that flashing clean master ad is killing my eyes. What gives? Are the ads that pay money worth it?

I like and use Clean Master often. What's wrong with removing junk files and freeing up space on my phone every now and then?

I only used Clean Master to Clean Junk. Every time I turned around it was putting up a notification some there to click here to do this or that. I don't know how valid any of it was and NEVER clicked it. After a while it was just too tiresome.

Nothing, so long as that's all you choose - and all it does.
You should be aware that the cache files that it cleans will come back by design, and if you're already down with that, great, it's your phone.

Strictly junk file removal for me. I generate a Gigabyte or more a week easily.
That's how I looked at it when I was using it also. I figured I was doing some real good.
So ... if we really were freeing 1GB when we ran it and didn't run it for 4 cycles and then ran it it should offer to delete 4GB ... right?
Since it never happened ... what did the numbers mean that it was reporting? What was I actually doing?
Added to that all the evasive notifications where it wanted me to click to do this and click to do that (that I never did).
My CPU was overheating (which of my 4 CPUs?) ... click here.
Then it found "malware" that it wanted me to click to delete.
All I had to do was "click here".
Sorry ... not for me.

I used to think those type of apps did a lot of good.....
then after listening to some geeks I decided to take them all off and see what happens.
Result? Nothing bad happens, the phone runs just fine, thank you. No slow downs contrary to all those Blaring EyeSore adverts.
I never look to see how much memory is left, the phone is still working, so why worry?
