How do you make sure you have cleaned off a rooted phone without unrooting it?

Will probably sell my Nexus 4. It's rooted and running CM 11.? I did the update the phone sent right after I installed CM, and now there's another update and I will be damned if I can find out what it is. I suspect it's a nightly of some sort, and I don't feel like testing nightlies.

I haven't got much on there in the way of personal files. Just email, texts, and a money manager (no bank or cc listed - just amounts) The rest are mostly nature apps.

Did you want to return it to the stock OS, or just remove your personal information?

To return it to out of box stock, you can flash the Google stock images, if you just want to clear out your data, you can use the factory default setting in the settings menu, or start recovery and do a factory reset.

Note that if you're doing the factory reset from a community-built recovery (TWRP or CWM or similar) you'll need to do an "advanced wipe" to get it to actually wipe the "/sdcard/".

Just get info off. Would like to leave rooted so someone can change ROMs.

I was going to uninstall everything. No real personal info - I had more reference books than info on the phone.

Just factory default via the phones menu... it will clear out all personal info, and root should stay, that is flashed into the system and should survive a factory default.
