Root Clean ROM for 2.3.5?

Hey, its been a while since I've fooled around with flashing so I'm a little out of touch. I'm going to be retiring my DX next week and I wanted to flash a nice clean ROM onto it before I stuck it on the shelf.

I'm running Android 2.3.5 right now with MIUI 1.9.23. (I cant figure out the exact build I have, but I think that's just MIUI)

Anyways, while MIUI is nice and pretty.. its horrible on battery life so if I ever have to take my DX out of retirement, it's going to drive me nuts.

Any suggestions? I just want something thats clean, fast, nice battery, no bloatware.

any of the 2init ROMs have improved battery life
not great
but improved


the 1init roms
IE
Apex, Liberty, Shuji, etc, etc

are going to have best battery life, with removed bloat, but some still there to run the system. you might want to check them out

I agree with VoidedSaint. BTW, the MIUI build you're currently on is positively ancient.

Thanks for the input. I know its ancient - its driving me crazy. Has the android build changed, or do you think I'll be alright just wiping and flashing?

I wish I could tell which version I have. I think I'm running the the deodexed rooted version of gingerbread but I can't even remember... it involved booting my mac into linux or something, whatever. its been like 6 months since I've done anything with it.

If I was retiring my X today it would go on the shelf with Liberty.

I ended up going with APEX, thanks for the all the advice. I do remember Liberty being a little more customizable than this, but this will do in case I ever need a backup phone.
