What type of cleaners are you referring to? If you mean task killers and ones that free RAM - they are not good.

You don't need to use them. Android os does fine all by its self. Besides Clean Master will drive you nuts with browser privacy notifications.
The only cleaner I use,Is SD Maid Pro and they do have a free version.
But the Pro version does more;
