Wow, yeah I think those were like some of my first posts here! lol
I feel guilty for not reporting back sooner, especially given my initial fervor on this subject, and also how I constantly implore others to "report back!" lol
Having said that, to be honest I received the Ghost Armor and never installed it. I am a contractor and was really worried about protecting my phone. I was also coming from a BlackBerry with an OtterBox Defender case (the ultimate in protection).
This entire time I have been rocking the cheapo $4.95 ebay case mentioned above. Some of the black rubberized coating has worn off in several tiny spots, resulting in a bunch of little white dots (apparently the plastic structure underneath the black rubbberized outer coating is white). Also, several of the tabs have broken off (mostly from taking the case on and off the phone to do battery pulls, etc.) but believe it or not the case still stays on as long as you are careful with it. In fact, as we speak I think there are only two tabs remaining (out of 4) on my lower cover, and only 3/4 on the upper skinny one (around the screen). lol
So I can definately say the $4.95 cases are well worth it! Soon I plan on ordering some more, this time I will get a few of them just to have spares!
I will say though that generally I try to be very careful with my $400 phone! It is a delicate, expensive electronic device and I treat it as such (keep in pocket, or in little cubby hole in truck dash, etc.)! So YMMV!
And the screen seems to be very nice as is. I was worried about scratches from wiping it off with tiny pieces of sand probably on it. But I wipe my sweaty, oily face spooge from the screen several times per day, and have been doing so for months, and have yet to see a scratch. It really does appear to be a very nice display.
tl;dr: I don't think the Ghost Armor (or similar skins) are necessary.
