Clear route on Google Maps Navigation?

Hi there.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with Google Maps. I have used the navigation on it a couple of times and I can't find a way to "clear route".

Just pressing "exit navigation" doesn't do anything, when I go back into the app, the same route comes up. I can add a new destination, but the problem still exists when I open the app up. I have tried clearing the app data via the app manager, but this doesn't solve it.

There is nothing in the app settings that says "clear route".

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Strange. When i press 'exit navigation', the next time i start up the app it asks for a new destination.

We have 2 of these phones, and as you've said above, the other phone will open onto the screen where you input a new destination and shows your route history.

This phone where we're having a problem, it just opens straight onto the navigation screen and will start saying the directions.

Please someone help as my hubby is driving me nuts with this!

Hi, when in Directions mode with my Desire S I have three ways of clearing the current route. Firstly by hitting the Layers soft button top right of Google Maps screen which opens a table with 'Clear Map' soft button bottom left. Secondly by hitting the device soft menu button which gives six options, one of which is 'Clear Map' (brush icon). Thirdly by hitting the device soft back button.

In Navigation mode hitting the soft menu button bottom right of navigation screen or the device soft menu button, gives six options. Hit More (bottom right), then Set Destination and enter new destination.
Hope this helps.:)
