cleared media storage, where did everything go?

I accidentally selected "clear data" in the media storage app on my samsung note, i thought i was just deleting the cache because it said it was only 10mb, but when I try to open the external sd it says its empty, and it wont even detect it on my computer.

is there a way of retrieving everything i had on there? i have much more than 10mb, probably at least 3-4 gigs. please help! thanks

Take the SD card out of the phone and connect it to the computer. (You may have to buy a $5 adapter if you don't have a card slot in the computer.) See what's on the card.

tried it among several other apps to restore data, but i get the same problem as when i try to connect it to my pc, it doesn't get detected.

when i look up threads where this has happened, most people can search for the files, or just restart there phone. My computer and phone wont even detect the sd card

Sorry, to hear your having trouble with retrieving your photos. I listened to others saying you could delete data and reboot and it would rebuild itself. Wrong! Now I'm getting pop up notices all the time, like 7 in a row. Now, more apps aren't working. And they take turns. Pretty sure I have a bug. I.'ll try to get the picture I took of one of the error messages. I can't even download a Virus security app. It tells me it's installed, but it's not showing up anywhere. Maddening.
How long have you had your phone?
