Help Clearing Cache

Yesevil

Android Enthusiast
Hi,

Please can someone advise how I clear the cache on my phone as I have heard that this will help to maintain good performance.

Also how often is it necessary to clear the cache?

Many Thanks in advance

Hello Yesevil and welcome to AF. :)

Go to Settings > Applications > and go to apps like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Mobile app, Google Play, etc. and hit clear cache. It's also good to clear out old text messages too. I usually clear the cache on mine around every two weeks or so.

Thanks for the quick respone and the welcome.

Is it better to clear the cache partition via the powered off menu (home and vol up/down) or just to clear the apps cache seperately?

Not sure about that really. I always do the apps separately and then I power the device off and reboot. You can even clear the cache on games too. :)
Perhaps someone who knows about that can chime in.

I use App Cache Cleaner. It's quick and just one press and its done. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache

Exactly what i was gona say mate. I swear by that app/widget.
If say the keyboard feels slightly laggy or pics on tapatalk refuse to load, one tap, the widget spins round, turns green and thats the cache clear :)

P.s, you can also boot into recovery mode and clear cache. Im not sure if that does anything different to App Cache Cleaner? But it doesnt do any harm
