Help clearing call log and message log limit?

Ok, so I went into my call log and saw that it has every call made, missed and gotten since I received my phone over a month ago. Wow, thats a long list. I know on my Blackberry if I didnt clear my logs and messages, the OS would slow down. Is it the same as on Android?

Is there a way to keep the 10 most recent calls and message conversations instead of clearing all?
 
I don't think the call log would slow down your nexus even a bit. The memory impact is so low compared with all the other things running and installed on your phone.
But I think I did come across something in the settings about auto clearing logs aftr a month or so.. could be dreaming tho, can't check now :p
 
It looks like you can check a box to make it so it has to ask you before clearing the log... nothing about keeping it forever or dumping once a month though. Is check if you have that checked, and other than that I wouldn't worry about it.
