Help Clearing data on media storage app?

Hi all. I am another victim of the mediaserver battery drain. Never had it before until 4 days ago, and suddenly it is bleeding my battery dry and accounting for double the battery use (or more) compared to my screen. And that is on only light to moderate use. I don't use my phone for playing music and I have only a small amount of pics stored on my SD card.

I did a search on this and someone suggested clearing the data and cache on the media storage app, force closing it and then restarting the phone.

My question is - what will be the effect of clearing the data? Will I lose anything? The app has over 13 MB of data in it, and because I don't know what that data is, I'm nervous about clearing it. Thanks for any advice.

I would say nothing important would be lost :)
I've delt with runaway media server before on a couple devices. My theory was that either an email or text is hung up in limbo. Just my thoughts...
Edit for google changing delt to felt :p

Well the problem seems to have disappeared as quickly as it appeared. No need to clear the data, thankfully.
