Clock on Home Page

cmus

Newbie
I wish to see the digital clock and date on the home page. Nokia 4.2. stock Android 10

By default the home page shows the date.

When I long press and select the digital clock widget I can drag that to the home page. Then the home page shows the digital clock widget - clock with date below it. BUT the original date only ALSO shows above it.

So I see this on the home page:

Tuesday, 29 Dec (large font)

12:17
Tue 29 Dec (in a smaller font)
  • However the lock screen just shows this - Time over Date
  • How do I remove the default date on the home screen? or the date from the clock widget?

It's all based off your launcher app, which is basically your home screen.
If you want you can install a different launcher, such as Nova launcher, from the play store, or there are others, that let you customize your own home screen with any widget, clock, date, icons that you like.

You can also long press on the portion you want to remove and choose remove to fix your issue
That does not work. It brings up a screen called "preferences" but no options for clock/date changes.
Just noticed on the second home screen (right swipe from first home screen) that the default date does not appear, just the widget.

That can't be correct as my friends Nokia 2.3, also running stock Android 10 does not have the situation I describe.

Well he's got a different model than yours so of course it will be different. Not all models are the same across the board. Just try out a different launcher as suggested. You can revert back with no harm no foul.
I'm just giving you suggestions since I don't physically have the same device as yours. But hey, ignore my posts until someone else here can help

yep definitely get a different launcher......i would also recommend nova which is free, but the prime version is well worth the extra money. with nova prime, you have so much customization that the phone will feel like a totally different phone. it will not slow your phone down or take up any room.....i highly recommend it.

also adw is another popular launcher as well.
