Yes, I've not used the custom CWM but apparently, you can update the stock recovery (from the stock recovery) with this one. No idea what's the effect on ROM manager after that (possible it works as it's CWM)

I'm new to cellphones. Stop laughing :)

Anyway, would something like this Peach Sunrise - ClockWork mod allow me to replace the unmovable bottom row of icons? I would LOVE to get rid of the Phone thing, and replace it with Talkatone. I would also love to make default associations such as having the Speaktoit assistant open Wunderlist for to-dos.

Does the new ROM make those things possible?

coyote, i think you want something like golauncher. i dont have it but sounds like you can do such mods with it. go launcher is an app not a rom. dont know if sunrise has such customization built in. i havent played with it yet.

Just go to the android market and download go launcher, you can change those things on your phone and your phone will run better not using the crappy stock launcher. After you install it, simply hit the home button and select the golauncher option, not TWLauncher.

Did it... it's a beautiful thing. :) Thanks!

You can change the 4 bottom icons without installing a new launcher. I removed the Messaging app and put Gmail there. Look at page 40 of the manual under "Adding and Removing Primary Shortcuts".

It's something like this:
* Home -> Applications
* Menu -> View Type -> Customizable Grid
* Menu -> Edit -> Ok
* Drag the app you want to the bottom, it will switch places
* Menu -> Save
* Menu -> View Type -> Alphabetical list
