Phone: Droid Razr Maxx
Android Version: 2.3.6 (right out of the box version)
Vendor: Verizon
Goal: Ability to perform image backups & restores of
entire phone.
Steps Taken Thus Far:
1. rooted the phone
2. Purchased/installed Premium ClockWordMod Rom Mgr from google play
Next Steps:
3. Install ClockWordMod Rom Recovery (incomplete)
a. Started Rom Mgr
b. selected Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery
c. Was presented with a menu of phones to select
Razr was on the selection list
Razr Maxx was not.
I understand that the two phones are identical except
for the battery. However, being cautious I
backed out of the menu ; until I can check with
people who know better than me.
My preference is to have a situation where I can always
get back to what the phone was - when I opened the box and then
have subsequent backups that will represent my phone after it has been
customized with the apps that I want.
In going with this idea, I made minimal changes to the
phone upon activation. I synched my contacts from my
old phone and that was about it. No optional apps yet (other than Rom mgr related).
Questions:
1. Is selecting Droid Razr the right thing to do when
installing Recovery Manager on a Razr Maxx?
2. Does ClockWordMod backup also include backing up the factory restore partition?
