Help Clockwork Recovery flash won't complete via Odin on G5

Tried to flash Clockwork Recovery to Samsung Galaxy 5 via Odin 4.28.

Had the Europa OPS file and the ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.6.tar.

Process gets stuck at "<1> recovery(dot)img download.."

Now when trying to restart the phone I get the "connect phone to PC" yellow and black icon.

Help please. I'm desperate to get the phone back up and running again.

Odin box at the top says "RECOVERY". Box below says 1 (COM 20) and has been running for about 30 mins now with no progress.

Hiya. I had the same issue and not had a chance to look too much into finding a suitable CWM for G5, but to get back to its original state, you should flash your drive back to its original firmware.

To get round the semi-brick mode that you have a read through the following

Then one go back to downloading mode, flash with original firmware for your phone via ODIN.

Have a look at samfirmware.com for firmware suitable for your phone.

Yes. Don't think CWM works for Galaxy 5 for whatever reason so flashed it back from stock rom collection and am using adb reboot recovery to get external memory flashing done - not that I really need it.

So yeah all good on that front and thanks for the reply.

Just having some weird wifi issue now. Will connect once stay connected for a while and then won't reconnect to wireless router. Seperate post for that one but if you have any idea ... ?? I've scoured the web for answers to it but doesn't look like it was ever resolved.

That used to happen with my old wifi router now i got a new router and when it disconnects from the phone it will recconect again in a while. if this does not happen then turn off your phones wifi and then turn it back on again.
Thanks for the information on how to unbrick same thing happened to my i5500 and i am now going to try your method.

I had exactly the same thing with CWM v0.6 too. Same problem, same semi-bricked state. I then downloaded and flashed v0.5. I can't paste the link as I'm a new user but I got it from MadTeam's site (madteam dot co) and, it was in the tutorials.

V0.5 works a charm and, even flashed that from the semi-bricked state with no issues.

CWM v0.6 does not work on the galaxy 5 and version lower than CWM v0.6 will work perfectly. Happened to me so a flashed the stock rom and put CWM v0.3 onto it.

Don worry folks first root ur phone first using superoneclick or any other software then do it via Odin it will flash cwm recovery...no worries!!!
