Root Clockwork recovery: how to install roms.

I keep failing when trying to install any rom pack i've downloaded and try to install with the clockwork recovery.

for example, I have the GummyCharged_GBE_2.0.zip file and md5 hash checks match. it's on my sd card and clockwork recovery is installed on my phone.
i boot into recovery mode and try to install, after wiping, and it says that it failed signature verification. every zip i DL gives this error.

I was able to use Odin to flash a different rom, but nobody posts .md5 files.
it's all .zip files, and if i understand right, that's for the CWM method.

I think I already responded to you in another thread - but it seems like your CWM recovery flash (through ODIN) didn't stick, possibly due to booting into the phone as you normally would WITHOUT first (or already) running/flashing a custom kernel after you ODINed recovery. While the thread is designed for a particular ROM (and it's Froyo...), this thread has some detailed explanations on a number of things that you might find useful - and if nothing else it's full of informative links. Hope it helps!
