Root Clockwork ROM Manager Backup Error - Eclair

Hello,

This one is worth my time reaching out to the community. I have the following specs:

Rooted via SuperOneClick.
Rom Manager installed.
Clockwork 2.5.1.2 installed.
Build Number ECLAIR.UVKA2
Firmware Version 2.1-update1
Android System Recovery <2e>
And of course, T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant.

I've had a few issues with ROM Manager:

1. When I click "Backup Current ROM," and select the name of the backup, the phone immediately reboots.

2. Possibly related: when I mount my phone, ROM Manager gives me an error message stating that my phone needs to be mounted. If it's not mounted, ROM manager gives me no such error message.

What exactly am I missing? Would someone kindly take the time to spell it out for me?

I've searched our forum and others but could not find a suitable answer. I want to be absolutely certain my phone is backed up before installing a new ROM. Thus, it's worth starting a completely new posting on this subject.

Thanks so much.
