only the touch version works (evo 3d cmda) cuz regular one doesnt even boot and im not sure what it's capable of because i'm not gonna try to restore backups with it

That's fine. Go to here: ClockworkMod ROM Manager - Recoveries

The only one that will work is under the 'download touch recovery' column. Locate where it says 'HTC Evo 3D' (not the GSM one). That's the only one that works. Should be v 5.8.0.2
