clone without root access

Dear all,

I'm new in android, unfortunatelly.

I have a start A2000 and few day ago the touch screen decided not to work properly impeeding to use the phone (to switch off I need to take the battery off, by instance).

I first tried to do a factory reset through a failsafe mode (power + vol -) and through the system recovery but the only thing I reached is that I deleted the IMEI and the screen still not working.
apparently, testing it, it works fine.
now, without a back up, nor a rooted phone or a debug mode, how do I can get into the ssystem to clone it?

there is no official rom so I'd prefer to save mine before uploding any firmware found on the net.
So far I'm here, the only way I actually see to install new rom is using the recovery system putting an update.zip file on sdcard.
Will it works?

thanks for your time
