Cloud-based memo app?

Lurker
Hi

I need some very basic help.

I have a Galaxy S2 and I use the memo app all the time, but the problem is it doesn't sync with my PC or netbook.

Is there a cloud-based app that I can use just to upload small text files from my phone and PC, that I can read from all of these devices?

My priorities are these:
1. Memos can be accessed from my S2 when mobile internet signal is poor
2. App boots quickly
3. Is quick and simple, not a document editor, just a note maker

I'd rather suggest Evernote or Springpad.

DropBox or Sugarsync are file sync apps, not notetakers. that would make him use the document editors still to make files to sync.

Inkpad seems nice when looking at it, but Evernote and Springpad have more features, like attaching media (pics, vids, audio) to your notes etc. SpringPad for PC exists as a Chrome app, while Evernote has an actual PC program that is actually touted as having enough features to be a possible OneNote replacement for Mac users (since they dont have OneNote).

I just started using Chrome and like it, so I'll give Springpad a try. I just tried Inkpad and didn't like it, font too small and no way to change it (size or color). I'm using Check and Done, more of a to do list, and just share with email and send myself anything I need to remember, but Springpad looks more direct (although more complicated).

If you use Gmail, you could use the Tasks folder for making notes. These appear on your Gmail page - and can be seen/edited using GTasks on your Android. I use this method for notes that I might need at my PC or out and about on my phone.

I kept trying to get this to work (sync to phone), but I could never get Tasks to work on the phone (page never opened). I finally got the correct URL and it works great!
https://mail.google.com/tasks/android?pli=1

Just did a home screen bookmark link and goes straight to Tasks (actually better UI than on the PC, and all syncs! Don't need Gmail app on your phone, it's a browser link.

Springpad is way to many clicks.

edit: ...and thanks again! I've been playing with Google Tasks, and it's pretty sweet. Easily add tasks while on Gmail page or on your Calendar page. I knew you could click the calendar to add and event, but never noticed the Task option in the pop-up.

I use Documents to go with Drop Box. Once the file is created I save it to Drop Box and then edit forever. I sync between my laptop, Evo and tablet.

That is exactly what I meant...

Then SpringPad or Evernote is easier. Open app, make new note, save. Its already on your PC/Mac as well the moment you click save on the app, and edits anywhere also edits all devices. :) You can even arrange notes into notebooks, attach pictures, make to-do checklists. They also have a search note feature. Evernote even has this neat feature where the text in a picture becomes searchable.
