Root CM 5.0.8 test1 build...seems perfect...anyone else try it?

Since my Droid appears to HATE 2.2, I fell back to CM 5.0.7.1 for now. Not too shabby, actually, as fallbacks go. :D

However, I quickly found my update jollies were lagging, so I found links to the current CM 5.0.8 test builds (still 2.1 based) and loaded it last night (themed ROM version). I am impressed...5.0.8 test1 feels like a released ROM, good to go.

Change log includes "Experimental BT voice dialing" (which I haven't gotten to run yet) - be interested if anyone else has it working.

Anyone like me not on the 2.2 train yet, feel free to jump right in. :)

The Blue theme version of 5.0.8 test1 is, well, very blue (;)) but I tweaked the text color for notifications using spare parts, and it does look better than stock.

Slayher is going to release a themed 5.0.8 ROM as soon as 5.0.8 is released, really like his Genesis theme on 5.0.7.1.

Don't know yet if Fab will find time from his 2.2 work to do a NexTheme ROM for CM 5.0.8 when it's released...(that too subtle, Fab?) ;)

Hope this is of use to others for whom 2.2 isn't happening on their Droids...
 
I'm pretty sure Manup will have a themed version for CM when the final 5.0.8 comes out.

He just doesn't seem to care about any other ROMs, which is why we have to port them :D
 
Yeah, sorry for the accidental mis-direct, Jackburnt...but believe me, had this been for a CM 2.2 build, the subject would have had a lot of exclamation marks. :)
