Root cm10.1 help!

so i really want to get jelly bean 4.2 so i went on goomaneger and installed the rom and gapps and i flahed the rom but when it flashed it stays stuck on the htc start up? can someone help me install it?
 
i tried but for some reason my phone doesnt come up in command prompt. when i but fastboot devices it doesnt search it? btw i am using twrp recovery
 
Ok, install HTC Sync Manager [it will automatically install the drivers you need for fastboot] from HERE : HTC Sync Manager download
Wait for HTC Sync Manager to install itself and after it's 100% done connect your phone in bootloader, wait for windows to install the required driver and connect it to PC, run command in CMD : fastboot devices ; and you will see a serial number there that is from your phone > proceed with installing the boot.img ! :)

it tells me unkown partiton .
error: cannot determine image filename
 
The boot.img you get from the ROM .zip file that you have installed/you want to install on the phone > mote the boot.img file to your Android sdk/platform-tools/ folder and input command.

Did you input the following command ? : fastboot flash boot boot.img

The bolded out boot means your partition, depending on what you flash you can change the partition.
 
wait i think i need to install the android sdk again mabye? because i chaged to windows 8 recently and mabye thats why its not working? and yes i did fastboot flash boot boot.img?

i am going to get on a windows 7 computer cause i think its because of windows 8 that wont let me? can you tell me how to get the sdk on this windows 7 computer because honestly i forgot how
 
i finnaly got it to work now. the problem was that i did it in a windows 8 computer and the android sdk did not work for some reason but i tried it in a windows 7 and it worked finally !
 
yeah i dont recommend windows 8 either ! you really can't do anything with it. the only good thing aboout it is that it's faster but thats it
