Root CM10 for the Wildfire S

Just thought I'd check in to say that I am now running CM10 and so far am very impressed.

Wi-fi works, GPS works, the camera works (with no artifacts in the preview), YouTube videos work and I've got Google Now working (sideloaded and linked to SD card by Link2SD).

Here's how I set mine up, hope it's easy to follow (it assumes you have experience in flashing ROMs)

Download the ROM from here:https://code.google.com/p/cm10-wildfire-s/downloads/list

Make a nandroid backup of your current system.

Perform a full set of wipes.

Flash the ROM and reboot the system.

Copy the apk of Link2SD to the root of your SD card. Download Link2SD-1.9.4.apk from here: Link2SD download for Android - Softpedia

Copy jb gapps lite to the root of your SD card. Get them from here: Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps-lite
Go to System Settings>Security and check 'Unknown Sources'

Open the browser and in the address bar type: file:///sdcard/Link2SD-1.9.4.apk - this will install Link2SD.

Open Link2SD and choose the approriate partition for your files, usually ext2.

Before rebooting your phone go to Link2SD settings and check 'Automatically Link new apps to SD card'.

Reboot into recovery and flash jb gapps lite

Reboot your phone.

Connect your wi-fi network.

Log into your Google account and use Play Store to install Titanium Backup. Restore your apps from TB.

And voila!

Note: Flashing the ROM and installing Link2SD before installing gapps seems to be the best way to maximise the internal memory. Link2SD should update once your Google account is activated.

About the Google now for wildfire s, I am now running CM10, and only installed the " jb gapps lite"

Could you please tell me which gapps file need to be installed in order to use the Google Now?
thanks..

If you search Google, using 'Google now apk' as the search term, you will find it. It's what I did, but I can't remember where I got it from. Sorry.

This app runs really slow on my wildfire s, and becomes no response when using voice function in Google search app.

Do you have the same problem?
