Root CM7 Battery Life

chaps1976

Lurker
Hi all,

I switched to CM7 from ARHD couple weeks back and very happy and have seen a slight improvement in my battery life but still believe that could be better, I have carried out battery calibration but was wondering if any of my set up could be changed to improve I'm currently using the following

Radio - 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M
RIL - 2.2.0018G
Kernal - 2.6.35.14-cyanogenmod-g9e5cdf1andorid@portatile#1

Just to at my signal seems very good and again on improvement on stock and ARHD.

Thanks in advance

PS. While here I earlier downloaded free Talking TomCat app to keep kids busy for bit and it slowed down the phone so have unnistalled but stills seems little sluggish and I know it hard to download extra files to work and for life of me I cant find what they were and if there are the cause of problem

I would highly recommend switching to this kernel. You just need to do a rom backup and flash it - do not do a dalvik cache wipe or a factory reset.

It's been a while since I used cyanogen's stock kernel, but the LordMod one has both better performance and battery life in my experience.

As for the tomcat app, usually additional files are put on the sdcard. Although I have not used that app my self, so that's just a guess.

I'd downloaded that Talking Tom cat app for my wee man and I'd pretty much the same experience; slow, buggy, Force Closed and caused a few reboots. From what I can see, there's a folder on the SD Card called TalkingFriends where it stores some data. If you've uninstalled the app, you can safely delete the folder.

Hi both thanks for the quick replies will def give that kernal a go and have a look for that talking friends folder.

Got to say the support on this forum compared to some others is outstanding and def going point few others this way.
