CM7 finally released ?

...just took a look over at cyanogen ,and found this "update-cm-7.0.0-RC1-N1-signed.zip" in the nightly build section for the N1 ,but is it really a final release ?

RC means Release Candidate.. It is a pre release sorta. The devs thisnk they have the build complete and are ready to release it but want many people to try the RC in case a bug is found and can be addressed before official release.

Expect the Gingerbread CM7 Stable to be released soon, my guess is within one week. CM7 RC1 rocks and to quote Cyanogen "So a bunch of geeks beat ALL the manufacturers to Android 2.3 by reverse engineering their own devices. "

Even Google got bested by Cyanogen and Team Douche by making GB available to N1 owners first.
 
only release candidate didn't came to my mind :) ...thanx for the tip

...and yes ,they did and will outrun google ,sadly for them ,but that's life ...the best are the best ,and team cyanogen is one of the [if not...] the best out there at what they do.
 
I've been running the nightly since build 1, and just installed RC1 this afternoon, and I'm definitely pleased with it. Props to their team!

Outrun google? ummm you do understand it was google that released gingerbread to aosp which makes it possible for cyanogen and others to compile roms, right? :confused::confused::confused:
