CM7 Overclocking

I'm currently running CM7 nightly 208 and had a fiddle with overclocking the rom using the CyanogenMod settings. I found my phone hung (at least in Fruit Ninja!) at 710 Mhz but seems fine at 691 Mhz.

Which governator is recommended? Ondemand or Smartass? Is it safe to enable Set on boot?

That gives a little info on what the governors are. I use Brazillianwax on my handset (won't be available for you as it's not in the CM7 kernel), but Smartass has served me well in the past.

If it hangs at 710, just keep it at 691, there's only 19 difference so you won't notice it that much. Regardless of Governor, it will most likely always hang at some point.

Nope, leave it unticked if you're messing around. Only once you've found something that phone runs at comfortably/stable click set on boot. Did the description on the governors make sense too? They just control how the phone sets the CPU speed.

i had been using "performance" lol. now i prefer ondemand.
NoFrills Cpu is good coz it has a safety thing built in. u can set it to apply on boot but it wont apply the values unless its been a clean shutdown so u cant get stuck in a bootloop
