CMW based recovery power key not functioning

I have a Micromax A87 rooted. Now when I boot into recovery mode and select any option and tap the power button, it presents me with a black screen with a CMW icon in the centre. The power button simply doesn't work how it should. My recovery is CMW - based Recovery v5.0.2.8. Please help experts.
