Putting the Transformer Prime in perspective | Mobile - CNET News
Well, like the title says, this is an absolutely fantastic article by CNET (very rare to get a good article from them, with there insane Apple bias).
Like I have tried to state before, most people on this forum are blowing the issues hugely out of proportion. If you read the article, please read it fully before responding, you will see how many primes have been returned and for what reason.
SymptomWorldwide fail ratea. Serial Number Not Found0.07 percentb. Wi-Fi/BT/GPS performance0.57 percentc. Random lock/reboot0.15 percent
Breakout of Wi-Fi/BT/GPS performance complaints for RMA/returns
edit: There was a table here, but upon posting the formating was messed up. Click the link to see the table, which breaks down complains, returns, their reasons, and how many have failed.
The problem on this forum, is the people are here because their tablet isn't functioning properly. So, to the normal person they assume "hey all the tablets must be bad cuz everyone on the FORUMS are saying they are!" Unfortunetly if you have ever taken any science or statistics class, you will realize that this is a skewed population. It doesn't at all represent the majority, so to draw conclusions about how many have failed (rdalev for one) is an epic failure, as these numbers prove.
Everyone that is bashing the tablet/freaking out/having a hissy, which they must think will magically fix their Prime, needs to calm down.
If your Prime doesn't work, ask on the forum for help, but quit b*tching about how "My GPS doesn't work! I knew it didn't while I was able to return it but I didn't cuz I assumed (and made an a** out of myself) that Asus would fix it. (removing the GPS spec wasn't quite a big enough clue for some people
)
Conclusion: The problems are not as widespread as many have been lead to believe. If you want to resolve your problems, be mature, and then contact Asus. I RMA'd it for dead pixels, and got one back with working GPS, blazing wifi, and no issues what-so-ever.
