Help cnm 9.7 out dated?

Hi all, thanls for taking time to read.A friend of mine was struggling for money and had a cnm 9.7 that is as new condition and hardly used so I bought it to help her out thinking it would be useful. It came restored to factory settings. I downloaded updates for apps I.e you tube and now the app crashes everytime I try to open it. Lcan I not just wipe everything completely and put a newer android on and if not what can I do? Thanks for reading.

Sounds like an incompatible or failed update. Is there some reason you can't just go into Settings > Manage apps and "Uninstall updates"? In most cases, YouTube is a system app, so that would revert it to the pre-update state.

There won't be any more updates or support for this device, CnM are out of business, ceased trading. Uninstall the updates see if that fixes it, but that's about all you can do with it.

Hi sorry I haven't taken more time thank you for replies and respond. Busy times crimbo etc. I kept the tab and had already reverted back to factory settings and most things work reliably however my question was more based on your point that there will be no updates (and the pervious ones on cnm site are dead links) due to them going out of business. I was looking more into rooting? I think? If this means what I think it does. And would remove all the factory data to a degree where it is a totally blank piece of hardware that can be rebuilt with a non specific android and them therefore updatable? Thanks again and hope to hear back.
