Help CNN video not working...

Downloaded the new CNN app when I first got the XOOM and the video feeds worked fine. Now I find that I can still view the stories, but when I click on a video I only get a blank screen. Restarted the XOOM and also deleted / reinstalled the app and receiving the same results. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm guessing their videos are flash. In which case they may not work for a couple weeks when flash for tablets is released. But I don't know this - just a guess.

The videos worked before on day one without flash. Just began having the issue on Friday afternoon.
 
i just clicked on the "charlie sheens downward spiral" video and it played with no issues..

perhaps try a uninstall, reboot and reinstall of the app. perhaps clear the cache...

Tried resetting the XOOM, reinstalling the app, erasing the data, erasing the cache, ensuring that this was the only app installed, and connecting through both WiFi and 3G...Still can't view video on CNN. Not that I sit around watching CNN video all day, but if it works for everyone else and it worked for me on day one it must be a problem with the XOOM. Guess I'll have to exchange it for another one.
 
I'm not having difficulty either, so it has nothing to do with Flash, as we are all in that situation. :-)
 
I've been having this problem for the last week now on my WIFI only Xoom. CNN video use to work just fine. Has anyone found a solution/fix?

Been rooted since day one.

CNN has worked great for a while, but have not had problems with videos playing in the app until recently.

I have tried uninstalling, restarting, and reinstalling. Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot?
 
clear cache is another good method.

ive not had any issue with the app since day one (installed it just after feb 24 launch day on the 3g xoom i have) and vid is just fine. the wifi xooms have been mentioned by those user as having certain issues the 3G models dont have.. maybe your rooting is also interfering? i know you cant do anything about that but other than clearing the cache i cant think of anything else.

you dont get any error messages just blank screen yeah?

can you reach out to someone who has the same root as you and get them to test? at least try and duplicate it on another rooted machine...
 
I just wiped the cache, no change.

The error message I am getting is "CNN Video is not available offline. Please connect to a network and try again." Attached is a screenshot and as you can see, I am online with a good wifi connection.

only thing i can see is being rooted may be breaking some security/authentication handshake. you have done all you can do. i have not had any issues with it.

again if you can friend someone who has the same setup to verify if it works for them then we may have an isolated issue.

Thanks for your help. If anyone else out there is having this problem, hopefully they will post here.

I got my Xoom on 3/28 and rooted same day. CNN video worked for the first few weeks and recently stopped working...
 
Like the original poster on this thread, the CNN app is no longer displaying video for me -- I just get a blank screen. Text stories are ok. Video stories do not work anymore, although video from the app used to work fine.

My Xoom is *not* rooted, is a US Wifi-only Xoom.

When stuff like this happens, I wonder if the problem is triggered by interaction with other installed (or uninstalled) apps. For example, I have installed several video players over time -- maybe one of those has triggered a problem with the CNN app.
